Teacher Training General Description
Peggy's teacher training is for yoga teachers, health practitioners, body workers, physical therapists, and exercise instructors whose practice focuses on seniors and students who need a modified approach to yoga.
Peggy Cappy has over 30 years experience in creating accessible yoga programs for a variety of audiences and has taught students from ages three to 100. Peggy's gentle and practical approach draws on her years of experience teaching yoga, from her popular videos, Back Care Basics - Yoga for the Rest of Us, Yoga for the Rest of Us, MORE Yoga for the Rest of Us, and her book Yoga for All of Us.
"I just completed Peggy's 5 day "Yoga for the Rest of Us" teacher training. I am thrilled with my experience. Peggy's approach provides poses that are gentle, effective and most importantly, possible for those who might believe yoga and its benefits are beyond their reach. The training is perfectly paced, thorough, and left me with the confidence that I am ready to teach this beautiful yoga. I came to the training to learn ‘Yoga for the Rest of Us' and in the process experienced my own transformation as a teacher and yoga practitioner. Peggy is truly a master teacher who wraps her entire process in love and acceptance. An outstanding experience."
This highly practical teacher training includes:
- Classical yoga poses and a chair adaptation for each
- Instruction in how to modify postures for individual needs
- Methodology for preparatory warm-ups
- Suggested breathing exercises
- Principles of guided relaxation
- Presentation skills for effective teaching
- How to create a welcoming class environment
- Logistics of running an on-going class
In addition to the above we will discuss what makes a great teacher versus a good one, and everyone will get a chance to teach the group and receive feedback on their teaching.
Students must have Peggy's book, Yoga For All of Us, (the book is used as part of the training) and be familiar with Peggy’s videos. If you need to purchase any of these, please call and we will give you free shipping when you register for the class.
